How to change the SIM cards in an ICG-450 Router

  1. Unplug the power cable to the router so the router is turned off.  Also ensure that the router is sitting flat on a surface.  If it is mounted to a wall, take it off of the wall and place it on a flat surface before proceeding.

  1. Locate the SIM tray on the rear of the router (this will be indicated by a small pin hole and a picture of SIM cards) and gently unscrew the antenna above the SIM tray for ease of access.

  1. Push a paperclip or SIM tool or small long tool into the hole to eject the SIM tray.

  2. The SIM slot nearest to the hole on the SIM tray is SIM card 1 and the SIM slot in the back is SIM card 2

*if you are installing a new AT&T SIM card sent to you by Intwine, that SIM card will be going into SIM slot 2 and the Verizon SIM card will go into SIM slot 1*

  1. Orientate the cards so that the chip side is face down and the logo side is face up in the SIM tray. Then slowly push the SIM tray back into the ICG-450. You will need to turn them until the notch on one corner of the card aligns and the card sits flush into the SIM tray.

  1. Next re-insert the sim tray back into the router.  This can be slightly tricky to get lined up properly so be patient and do not force anything.  The tray will go in with ease when properly lined up. See the tips below on getting your SIM lined up

    1. Make sure that the SIM cards are flush with the SIM tray.

    2. The tray does not actually get centered in the whole.  It will feel like it is down and right of center when successful.

NEXT STEPS:

You will need to connect a Laptop or Computer to the ICG-450 (or use a computer that is already connected to the network) for these next steps.

  1. Open an internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, etc. etc. ) and in the search bar at the top, type in the following:

192.168.2.1

And press enter

*Note - if you see “Your connection is unsecure” or a warning, click on “Proceed anyway” so that we can navigate to the routers login screen

  1. You should see a login screen now:

The username is always:

admin

The password will have to be given to you by an Intwine Support Representative so you will need to call or email Intwine Support (please make sure you have your routers Serial Number ready when you call in)

  1. Once logged in you should see this page:

  1. On the left hand side, we want to click on “Internet”

Then we should see this screen:

  1. We need to locate where it says “Cellular” and follow that column all the way to the right, and next to the policy gear icon, click on “Edit”

It should bring up something that looks like this:

  1. We will need to make that below the mask field, where it says SIM1 and SIM2, we select SIM2 first

  1. Once SIM 2 is selected, we need to find the APN field and copy the contents of that field:

*Note - the contents of that field might be different than what is in the picture*

We will be using that information later, so make sure you copy it or write it down

  1. While SIM 2 is selected, we need to change the APN field to:

11166.mcs

  1. Next, we will need to select SIM1 and locate the APN field again, then fill in that field with the previous one that we copied or wrote down

  1.  Scroll down to the bottom and click the green Save Button:

  1. Power Cycle the Router (unplug the power cable, count to 10, then plug the power cable back in again) and wait approximately 3-5 minutes for the device to come back online.
