In general it is strongly suggested that your existing router/firewall handle when to fail between you primary and secondary internet. The ICG-550, however, is capable of handling this if you need. For the router to do this, please follow the steps in this article. If you still need help, don't hesitate to reach out to us!
There are two primary methods to change any setting on the ICG-550. You can either use the Star Portal or you can use the local webapp. Typically the local webapp is easier, therefore this article will assume that you are connecting locally, though the processes are almost identical.
- Using a PC, tablet, or other computer connect to the local webapp of the ICG-550. (Need help?)
- Once you are successfully logged in, click on the Internet link on the left side of the page. Then click on the Add button.
3. This will pop up a menu. If your primary Internet source required the use of a static IP, change the needed settings. Otherwise click Save.
4. Then connect your primary ISP to the WAN/LAN 1 port (which is now is WAN mode), and Connected your router to the LAN 2 port.
5. Test and verify that the router gets connection from both cellular and your primary ISP.
